Professional Qualifications
I am a qualified ANALYTICAL PSYCHOLOGIST - sometimes called a JUNGIAN ANALYST. I am a Training Analyst with the Association of Jungian Analysts, and also belong to UKCP, BPC and IAAP, as well as being a snr acc member of BACP. I have 25 years’ experience of supervising. I write reviews for the Journal of Analytical Psychology and have published poetry.
I have a MASTERS IN GESTALT PSYCHOTHERAPY from Metanoia Institute and have worked for nearly 30 years as a counsellor and therapist and for the last 10 as an analytical psychologist as well.
I have a Certificate in Working with Personality Disorders and worked for a year in a forensic unit.
I have a MASTERS IN CREATIVE WRITING from the University of Kent, and am interested in how we use our creative selves in our everyday lives, whether as writers, or artists, gardeners, photographers, flower arrangers or parents. I believe that it is important to each of us to feel that we have the power to create and to express ourselves. We all need to feel needed and to feel that our lives have some purpose.
I have extensive experience working with all the issues that come up in life - loss, grief, depression, anxiety, anger, jealousy, career issues, work stress. I also have a particular interest in working with adult women with Asperger's/high functioning autism, and with older people living on their own.
I see all these things are part of a kaleidoscope. I find it especially rewarding to work with people who want to explore who they are, and how they are in the world. Jung provided a fascinating and very positive view of human beings. It is exciting and rewarding to explore ourselves through Jungian Analysis.
I continue to participate in workshops, conferences and seminars, to increase my awareness and understanding. This is also a professional requirement of any therapist.
